Last weekend my sister Kitty and brother-in-law Chris came down for a visit during the Homecoming weekend here at NMSU. They came in to the brewpub near the end of my shift Thursday, and once I finally got off I joined them for dinner. Friday we went hiking at Dripping Springs, a nice area outside of town.

We had barely got there when we saw this painted grasshopper.

The springs, dripping away.

Kitty and Chris at the end of the trail.
On Saturday we went to the X Prize Cup at the Las Cruces Airport, where we saw lots of space stuff, including this space shuttle engine:

My sister the astronaut.
Later in the evening we went to the football game to watch NMSU lose to the Warriors of Hawai'i. I shot the game for the Honolulu Advertiser and spent the rest of the night trying to transmit photos to them via email.
Sunday morning Kitty and Chris met up with Kitty's old boss from the biology lab at a coffee shop in Mesilla and I met them there. We shuffled around the market in the plaza for a while before going back to Cruces for burritos before they had to go.
Halloweenie
Yesterday I attended a couple of Halloween parties, one thrown by some of my coworkers and another at the home of Wes, one of Eric's friends from work.

Death from above! It's the Ace!

Gerritt as Teen Wolf, all wolfed-out and ready for the prom.

I met the Golden Girls at the first party, and found out Grandma's secret.

There you are! We've been looking all over for you!

Matt, one of the brewers at work, was the big winner. Very big.

At Wes' house I had a haunting encounter with the Original Ghost Pimp 5. Why is he called that? The short answer is: "I don't know." The long answer is: "I have absolutely no idea."
OMG! Dave are those hairloops the real stuff, man you could participate in the World Cup of Moustaches :) nice pics as always!
