Some Photos

I took some photos on my last big trip through Europe, but I was pretty busy when I got back so I never got to sharing any of them. So here's the compressed version:

This cross stands above the little Romanian mountain town of Busteni. Built after WWI to memorialize fallen soldiers, it is a popular hiking spot for vacationers.

A young boy boarding a train in Brasov, Romania.

Field work shot through a bus window outside Bran, Romania

Statues on top of the Citadel hill in Budapest, Hungary

Pedestrian bridge in Budapest

Kris showed me the lake near his home where he used to swim as a child. It's a really lovely place, I would really like to have a place like that near my house.

Lake valley in Norway. Norway has a quiet, rugged beauty that's hard to match. It's near impossible to find a cash machine, but the nature makes up for it.

The famous Prekestolen cliff in Norway. It's a 600 meter drop into the fjord below. Pretty impressive place. I've heard nobody has ever fallen off, even though you can go right up to the edge.

Lighthouse at the southern most tip of Norway. We were there in the night during a rain and windstorm, which I think was the perfect time to see a lighthouse.

It was raining pretty hard in Oslo, so we ducked under a building. A little while later, the king and queen of Norway showed up. I guess that's not something you see every day.

In Oslo there is a statue park with tons of naked people doing strange things. This was one of my favorites. I like to call it, "Angry Dad".

I cannot explain the mysterious hand of Stockholm. He just floats there and points at people on the bridge.

Leaving Stockholm on the Viking Lines ship

A little lake in Mikko's hometown of Virrat. We alternated between sauna and swimming in this lake for an hour and a half or so, which was really nice.

Alexia has many talents. Rowing a boat is not one of them.

So there are a few flashes of my little trip. Of course there was a whole lot more, but I have to get busy for another trip :)
