Twick or tweat, it's Halloveen in Germany!

Apparently over the past four years or so Halloween has become increasingly popular in Germany. So much so that one must decide which partys to attend. I started out last night at the apartment of Gerrit, the German contact for the American students, and Katherine, American exchange student. Not too many people but a nice gathering. Katherine was a backwards girl, which was strange because when she was facing the other way it felt like she was staring at you. And Gerrit was the Dude, for all you Lebowski fans out there. I must say he did it quite well. I went with Roderic (USA), a cross-country runner, and Jeremy(USA), a soul man of sorts. We left before the trains stopped running at midnight in order to catch a ride to neighboring Bochum, where the rest of the group was. After walking a couple kilometers we found the place, filled with all sorts of Germans and exchange students in wild outfits. You may be asking: What were you wearing, David? Well, after searching in vain for a last-minute idea in the city, the thought occured to me that everyone loves a guy in his underwear. So I put on my red one-piece long johns and popped-out my contacts, messed up my hair and went looking like myself just after waking, which should be scary enough for Halloween. I got so many comments like "where did you find those wonderful glasses?" I had to explain that they were actually my own glasses and I really was that blind. D'oh. Anyway, Halloween was fun. Here are some photos. Yeah, they are just party photos, but what do you want, it was a party!

Der Dude. He's only drinking the oat soda because the milk ran out!

Here I am looking stupid (gasp!) with a beautiful gypsy girl. Those eyes belong to Ana (Romania)

What Santa does during the off-season. I don't know if you all knew this, but Santa is from Finland, and so is the guy in that mask (and my underwear!). It's Mikko, if you don't read here too often. The cute little bunny is Maja (Poland)

Hi Dave,
So nice to see pics from the Halloween Parties. Despite your comment about yourself I think you look great and happy.

Dave,
Sounds like your halloween was just a tad more eventful then mine. Well multiple tads infact. If you could post more photos of beautiful gypsy women I would not be offended in the least bit. Her eyes were quite mesmerizing.

Interesting site - what the hell is it all about? Best guess - an exchange student that found himself in Dortmund of all places? Intersting. I was looking for a "bvb" "flag" "dortmund" on google and stumbled upon your site. Dortmund is a great town - my father is from there. But not really well known. You need to go to a bar in downtown Dortmund run by a friend of mine. I can't remember the name of it. It's a night club actually. Quite the place. I will repost when I get the name. Drop me a line if you get a chance. Hans from Conifer Colorado. hans@fullcirclelabs.com
